Privacy

The short version: this site is a set of plain pages. It does not ask you to log in, it has no comments, no newsletter and no shop, so there is very little about you for it to hold.

What we collect directly

Nothing. There is no form, no account and no comment box on this site. If you email us, we have your email and whatever you wrote in it, and we use it only to reply to you.

What the hosting provider sees

Like every website, ours runs on a server that records standard technical information when a page is requested: your IP address, the page you asked for, the time, and your browser type. This is how any web host works, and it is used to serve pages and to spot abuse.

This site is hosted on Cloudflare Pages, and the domain is registered through Cloudflare Registrar. Cloudflare's own privacy terms apply to that server data. Email sent to our address is forwarded by Cloudflare Email Routing to a private mailbox; Cloudflare states that it does not store the content of forwarded messages.

Analytics

Analytics are currently off. We do not use Google Analytics or any other visitor tracking, so there is nothing on this site counting you.

The only traffic information we see is the aggregated report that Google Search Console gives any site owner about how pages appear in search results. It tells us which queries showed our pages and how often they were clicked. It does not identify you.

If we ever switch analytics on, we will name the tool on this page and say whether it uses cookies, before it goes live.

Cookies

This site sets no cookies of its own. It uses no advertising network and no social media tracking pixels. There is no cookie banner because there is nothing to consent to.

Links to other sites

We link out to Australian retailers and cooking sites as sources. Once you click one of those links you are on their site, under their privacy terms, and we have no control over and no visibility of what they collect.

If we later join affiliate programs, some outbound links may pass a tracking parameter so the retailer knows the visit came from us. We will say so here and on the pages concerned — see our disclosure page.

Children

This site is written for adults buying camping gear. We do not knowingly collect anything about children.

Your rights in Australia

Australian privacy law gives you the right to ask what personal information an organisation holds about you, and to ask for it to be corrected. Since we hold essentially nothing beyond emails you have sent us, that request is usually short to answer — but you are welcome to make it.

Changes

If this site starts doing something new — a newsletter, comments, analytics — this page gets updated before that feature goes live, not after.
